Why Does Hatred or Strong Emotion Follow Us Across Lives?
Hatred and other strong emotions follow us across lives when they have not yet been understood. A hatred that is believed to be justified creates a claim that continues until the person sees that the hatred itself is what destroys. The emotion is not assigned as punishment. It remains active because the self has not yet recognized its actual effect. People often seek past life regression when a persistent anger, resentment, or fear feels older and larger than the events of the current life. In one-to-one sessions I work with clients who want to locate the earlier life in which a strong emotion took hold and complete the understanding that allows it to release.
How does hatred continue from one life to another?
Hatred continues because it is treated as a reasonable response to reality. The person who hates believes the hatred is justified and therefore keeps generating it. Each new life supplies fresh circumstances in which the same emotion can be directed outward. The outer targets change. The inner claim does not. Until the person recognizes that the hatred itself is the element that limits and damages, the pattern keeps reappearing. In regression, clients frequently recover an earlier life in which the same quality of hatred was already active, then see how it has been carried forward into the present relationships and reactions.
Is every strong emotion carried forward in the same way?
No. Love, creativity, and genuine understanding also continue, and they continue as resources rather than as claims. What follows a person in a binding way is the emotion that has been left unexamined and has therefore been allowed to define reality. Hatred is particularly persistent because it always presents itself as righteous. Other strong emotions, such as chronic fear or resentment, operate similarly when they are protected from scrutiny. Once the emotion is seen clearly, its power to organize future experience diminishes. The lasting elements are those that do not require an enemy or a justification in order to exist.
Can a hatred that began in another life be finished in this one?
Yes. Because the lives are simultaneous in the larger sense, an understanding reached now affects the whole self. When a person meets the earlier version of the hatred and recognizes that the emotion, not the original target, is what has continued, the necessity for the hatred to keep generating new objects can end. Clients often report that a long-standing resentment loses its charge after the prior life is seen and the actual effect of the hatred is acknowledged. The outer situation may still require practical attention. The inner compulsion to keep hating can release.
What changes when hatred is understood as a self-created claim?
When hatred is no longer viewed as a justified response to external wrong, it can be met as a pattern the self has been maintaining. Self-righteousness decreases. The person becomes freer to respond to present people and events without the old emotion directing the response. Many clients find that once the earlier life is clear, they can finally set down a resentment they had believed they were required to carry. The release does not depend on the other person changing. It depends on the recognition that the hatred itself was the element being perpetuated.
How past life regression applies here
In a past life regression session the focus is on the life in which a present hatred or strong emotion first became organized. Clients frequently recover the earlier circumstances, the justification that was accepted at the time, and the way the emotion has continued. The session works toward the recognition that ends the claim, so the emotion no longer needs to be carried into future experience.
Frequently asked questions
Yes. When hatred is believed to be justified, it creates a continuing claim that reappears until the person sees that the hatred itself is what limits and damages.
Yes. Love, creativity, and genuine understanding continue as resources. They do not bind in the same way because they do not require an enemy in order to exist.
No. Stopping the hatred means recognizing that the emotion itself has been the continuing element. The original events can still be understood clearly without the hatred being maintained.
Regression brings the earlier life and the justification into view so that the claim can be seen and released. The emotion then loses its power to organize new experience.
