If perimenopause arrived and you no longer recognize your temper, you are not the only one. A lot of women say some version of the same thing. I used to be patient. Now I go from fine to furious over something small. I do not like the sound of my own voice.
The body can turn the volume up in this season. Sleep gets lighter. Cycles get irregular. Heat rises faster. That is real. It is also real that your life may already have been full: the unpaid work, the marriage that assumed you would keep absorbing, the job that called your tone a problem. Hormones did not invent those. They made them harder to swallow.
You still deserve dignity. You still deserve help that treats both the body and the feeling.
Two true things at once
Your hormones may be changing how fast anger arrives. Your days may contain real reasons for anger. Talk with a practitioner you trust about sleep, cycles, and what would support your body. That conversation is self-respect.
Keep a private journal so the office and the kitchen are not the only places the feeling can go.
A rage journal that stays private
Set a timer. Write what happened. Write what you felt. Write the belief under it if you can see one. Common ones in this season: I am disappearing. I have no margin. If I need rest I am weak. If I snap I am failing.
Then close the book. Drink water. Do not march back into the room mid-sentence.
Leave the journal at home, or use a notes app you lock. Do not leave a rage book on a shared desk.
After the volume drops
Some of what peri revealed was already there. A resentment. A load nobody named. A fear of your own heat. Those belong on Relationship Resentment, in Forgive and Let Go when you are ready to put an old story down, and in 1:1 work when the same charge stays in the body after honest pages.
Inner peace in this season is possible. It looks like a body that is supported, and a self that is no longer the unpaid shock absorber for the whole house.

FAQ
Where do I start tonight?
One timed page. What happened. What I felt. What I believe it means. Then close the book.
Is this only hormones?
Hormones can raise the volume. They rarely create the whole file. Support the body and still tell the truth about the day.
When do I need more than a journal?
When the same charge returns in the body after honest pages. That is the root. EFT in 1:1 work can meet it there.
Is this medical advice?
No. If you are in crisis or thoughts of harm are present, get clinical help. In the US, call or text 988.
