Resentment is such a difficult emotion. It comes in so many facets. In order to resolve resentment, you have to look deeper than just the person that initially caused the feeling. I talk about all this and more in this video.
Helping so many reach their feelings and release their resentment, I have learned I love guiding people through their path to emotional healing. Do you have resentment? Does resentment keep coming back after you thought you worked through it?

Thank you for your helpful video about releasing resentment. I don’t have too many resentments, but I do have a couple. I do work on it. And the resentment is less and less. But, that’s as long as I am not around the person. One of them I will likely never see again. The other is still on the fringes of my life. Both of these people had profound effects on my life. Although I know about resentment and what it does to us, as you say, it is difficult to let it go and not get caught back up in it. I continue to work on it, and forgive them, and myself.
Thank you, Mira for this marvelous answer!
I followed a process that involved a lot of writing. I mean A LOT. Even before this, it took me quite a while to identify that some of the odd feelings I had had most of my life were resentment feelings. Identifying and verbalizing feelings (especially negative) just wasn’t done in my original family. Eventually I labeled sadness, discomfort, confusion, loneliness, aloneness. Anger, disappointment, judging, controlling, frustration. You get the picture. I had help with learning to label my feelings.
After awhile I understood resentment was something I felt toward certain people. I looked back at my past and identified others I had resented. Realizing, in truth, I was still feeling it. I wrote the names down. I then wrote what I resented about each person. After that process I went back and looked at each resentment and wrote how my resentment had affected me and what was my part in it.
…and there was more to this process…as you can imagine, it was very involved. I was with a group with a well thought out process they followed. After hearing what a huge difference it made in their lives, I did it too. It took about 10 months for all the writing (and there was more to do after that). In essence, I took the negative to help me become positive.
How amazing! Thank you for sharing this, Theresa!!!!
