Abundance and Past Life Regression: Releasing Old Money Patterns
Past life regression can help with abundance by revealing old beliefs about money that may come from other lifetimes, such as vows of poverty or the sense that spiritual gifts shouldn’t earn support. Seeing where a pattern began can loosen it, so you can allow yourself to be supported for your gifts and talents today.
The message from my LA workshop
After a past life regression workshop in Los Angeles, I recorded the video on this page. The message I wanted to share was simple: allow yourself to be supported for your gifts and talents.
So many of us find this hard. We give generously, yet struggle to receive. We undervalue our work. We feel uncomfortable asking for what we’re worth. Past life work offers one way to understand why.
What is a vow of poverty?
In many eras and traditions, people took formal vows. Monks, nuns, priests and spiritual seekers often renounced money and possessions to devote themselves to faith. Others made private promises in moments of crisis, such as “Money corrupts, so I’ll stay pure.”
From a past life perspective, such vows may carry forward. A soul who once lived devotedly without possessions might, in this life, feel uneasy charging for healing work or holding savings.
Signs an old money pattern may be at work
Consider whether any of these feel familiar:
- Guilt about earning from your spiritual or creative gifts.
- Money slipping away as soon as it arrives.
- A belief that wanting money is unspiritual.
- Discomfort receiving gifts, compliments or help.
- Repeating struggles no matter how hard you work.
These patterns can have many sources, including family beliefs and life experiences. A past life is one possible layer worth exploring.
How regression can help
In a regression, you might visit a life where money played an important role. You might witness a vow being made or see the circumstances that shaped your beliefs. Then, guided by your Higher Self, you can ask:
- Does this vow still serve me?
- What did I learn from that life?
- What do I choose now?
Many people feel a shift simply by recognizing that the old promise belonged to another time. You can honor what it meant and consciously release it.
A simple release practice
You can try this on your own:
- Sit comfortably and breathe deeply for a few minutes.
- Ask inwardly: “Is there a vow or belief about money I’m ready to release?”
- Notice whatever comes: a word, image or feeling.
- Thank that part of you for its devotion.
- Say: “I release any vow of poverty or lack, in all times and places. I now allow myself to be supported for my gifts.”
- Write what you noticed.
Repeat whenever it feels helpful.
Worthiness at the root
Beneath most money patterns lies a question of worthiness. Do I deserve to be supported? Is my work valuable? Can I receive without guilt?
Past life insight can help, and daily practice strengthens the change. My Worthy of Abundance Journal offers prompts to build a sense of deserving, one page at a time.
Karma and money
Some people wonder whether financial struggles are karmic punishment. I see karma as learning and balance. A pattern around money may be something your soul is exploring, and once you understand it, you can choose differently. Read more in What Is Karma?
Allowing support
Allowing yourself to be supported is a practice. Begin small:
- Accept a compliment with a simple thank you.
- Let someone help you without apologizing.
- Price your work in a way that honors your time and skill.
- Notice abundance that’s already present: friends, nature, opportunities.
Each act of receiving teaches you that it’s safe to be supported.
Miracles and abundance
When old patterns soften, many people describe feeling more open to unexpected opportunities. My Manifest Miracles program explores how to align with that sense of possibility.
Results vary from person to person, and regression doesn’t guarantee financial outcomes. What it can offer is understanding and a new choice.
Giving and receiving in balance
Many generous people pour energy into others and leave little for themselves. Abundance asks for balance. When you receive fully, you have more to share. Think of it as a circle: support flows in, you share your gifts, and support flows in again. Blocking either side slows the whole circle.
Journaling prompts for abundance
- Where did I learn what I believe about money?
- When have I felt fully supported, and what made that possible?
- What gift of mine deserves to be valued more?
- What would change if I allowed myself to receive?
Return to these prompts over a few weeks and notice how your answers shift.
Celebrating small wins
Notice and celebrate each sign of change: a fair payment accepted without apology, a gift received with joy, an opportunity you said yes to. Small wins build new evidence that support is safe and available.
Lives happening now
In my view, all our lives are simultaneous. When you release a vow of poverty in this life, the healing may ripple into your other lives too. I explore this in Past Lives Are Simultaneous Lives and in my book Beyond Past Lives. For an overview of the whole topic, visit the Past Lives hub.
