I love how in tune with the universe we are here at Rethnea.com! Today we did our first post on crop circles and all of a sudden everyone is talking about crop circles.
This morning Google had a new crop circle logo.
As you can imagine the whole world is buzzing. Everyone wants to know “Why?” However, Google remains silent. A spokesman for the search company joked that it would leave web users to their own UFO theories.
As you know, Google changes its logo to Google doodles on holidays and other days of note to reflect what’s going on in the world.
To thicken the plot, the search engine’s Twitter account has offered what could be a clue. Just before midnight, Google tweeted “51.327629, -0.5616088,” which many are guessing to be GPS coordinates.
The coordinates lead us to 1-7 Woodham Road in Woking, Surrey, England. Horsell, England, site of the first UFO landing in H.G. Wells’s novel The War of the Worlds. Diabolik tweeted “The War of the Worlds (1898), by H. G. Wells, based in Horsell Common north of Woking, was an early science fiction novel which describes an invasion of England by aliens from Mars.”
Jessica Damiano informed us on Garden Detective blog that the minus sign would indicate East, not West. When we go to N51.327629, E0.5616088 we land on Lidsing Rd, Boxley, Kent, England, which is a patch of farmland. The aerial photo of the address shows a field with no crop circles on it — at least at the time it was taken. May be one is coming soon!
What better conclusion to this fun update than petersyravong’s tweet: “I told you! Google is run by aliens! I knew it!”
Have an inspired day, my friends.
