What meditation can do for you

On ordinary days, meditation helps you feel grounded, relaxed, and peaceful. When life feels heavy, you can use it to calm worry and anxiety, find answers to your questions, and support your body’s healing. Meditation can also be a spiritual practice that opens you to a higher state of consciousness, a connection with your guides, and a deeper understanding of yourself.

Once meditation becomes part of you, it evolves as you evolve. As your interests and needs change, you will find new ways to use it.

How to meditate in 6 simple steps

  1. Find a comfortable spot where no one will disturb you for 10 to 20 minutes. Sit or lie down, whichever lets your body relax.
  2. Close your eyes and breathe slowly. Let each exhale be a little longer than the inhale.
  3. Bring your attention to your heart. Imagine breathing in and out through the center of your chest.
  4. Set a simple intention, such as “I am ready to trust” or “I am open to an answer.”
  5. Return whenever your mind wanders. A busy mind is normal. Each time you notice a thought, come back to your breath or to the voice guiding you.
  6. Close with a moment of gratitude, then write down any feelings, images, or insights that came to you.

Why guided meditation is easier for beginners

If you have tried meditating and felt like you were “doing it wrong,” you’re in good company. Guided meditation makes it easier because you have something to follow. My voice leads you through each step, so all you need to do is listen and allow.

Give yourself permission to be a beginner. Some days you’ll feel deeply relaxed. Other days you’ll mostly notice your thoughts. Both count, and the benefits build with practice.

What coherence feels like

Coherence is a state where your heart, mind, and body work in harmony. Your breathing becomes steady. Your thoughts slow down. Calm spreads through your body, and you feel connected to something larger than yourself.

Many people describe it as coming home. From that place, answers come more easily, and you feel more creative, more patient, and more loving with yourself and others. I share a short breath and heart practice for daily life in How to Own Your Own Energy.

Letting go and letting God

At its heart, meditation can be a practice of surrender. Letting go and letting God means releasing the need to control every outcome and trusting that you are guided. When you practice this regularly, you worry less, meet challenges with more grace, and start to notice the synchronicities and blessings that were there all along.

When to meditate

Meditate during the day whenever you need to realign: before an important conversation, after a stressful meeting, or in the afternoon when you feel scattered. Twenty minutes can reset your whole day.

Meditation is also a beautiful way to relax at night. Many people listen in bed and let a guided meditation lead them into restful sleep.

Pair meditation with journaling

Writing after you meditate helps you remember what came up and see patterns over time. If heavy feelings surface, letting them out on paper can help you release them. The Vent Journal was made for exactly that.

Ten to twenty minutes a day is a great start. Listening daily for at least a week helps you notice what shifts.

rethnea, can you do a post on Edgar Cayce? He is more than a psychic, he has medical treatments etc… and very few people know about him.
